Rajiv Puranik
Chief Technology Officer
Rajiv Puranik is the Chief Technology Officer of Empower Work, a national nonprofit that provides free, confidential support to people facing challenges at work. He leads all of the organization’s technology initiatives, including its infrastructure, business intelligence, and AI development.
Rajiv brings more than 30 years of engineering and product leadership at startups and global companies, with senior roles at Twilio, Apigee (acquired by Google), Hewlett-Packard, Yahoo!, ON24, and Vocera Communications (acquired by Stryker). He has spent much of his career building products at startups, several of which went on to market success, and he now brings that entrepreneurial experience to building a nonprofit startup. He has represented his organizations in industry collaboration and standardization efforts, including the CAD Framework Initiative and MPEG, and he is a named inventor on six granted patents. Rajiv also coaches founders through IIT Startups and invests in early-stage healthcare and technology companies. He holds an MS in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay.
